ANVILPrivacy Policy

What we collect
- Account data: your email address, a hashed password, and your Terms acceptance timestamp — stored with our authentication provider (Supabase).
- Subscription data: your plan, billing cycle, subscription status and license identifiers, synced from Freemius (our merchant of record). We never see or store your payment card details — checkout is handled entirely by Freemius under its own privacy policy.
- Device activation: a random per-install identifier used to activate your subscription on a device.
- Location: only if you explicitly enable GPS features (position display, routing). Your location is used on-device and for routing requests; we do not store a history of your movements on our servers.
What we don't do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not use third-party advertising or tracking networks.
- We do not read your radar viewing habits into a profile — map and radar requests are served and forgotten in the normal course of operating the service (short-lived operational logs only).
Service providers
We share data only with the processors needed to run the Service: Supabase (authentication and database), Freemius (payments and licensing), our hosting providers, and our email delivery provider (for account emails like signup confirmation and password reset). Weather data itself is fetched from public government and community sources (NOAA/NWS, GOES, Spotter Network and similar); requests to those sources are proxied by the app's backend where possible.
Retention and deletion
Account and subscription records are kept while your account is active. You can delete your account — and the personal data tied to it — by emailing weather.anvil@gmail.com from your account address. Freemius retains transaction records as required for tax and accounting law.
Security
Passwords are hashed by our authentication provider, data in transit is encrypted with TLS, and access to production systems is restricted. No system is perfectly secure; notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes
Material changes to this policy will be posted here with an updated effective date.
